Ericsson's Broadband 4G Mobband Technology arrives in Amazonia Peruviana

For now, this is the first project in Latin America that uses it 4G technology to ensure access wireless fix la Internet in hard-to-reach areas, with a difficult relief, such as the one in the Amazon jungle. Covering an area of ​​over 500,000 square kilometers, the Peruvian Amazon has one of the most extensive biodiversity in the world and includes the largest old-growth forest in the entire world.

Studies carried out by the company Ericsson and the business consulting company, Arthur D. Little, demonstrated that for every 10% increase in broadband access, a country's GDP increases by 1%. Precisely for this reason, ensuring access to the Internet for as many people as possible, will reduce the digital gap and ensure economic growth, also ensuring those who live in these isolated regions access to everything that the online world can offer them: a high-performance education, new jobs and a much better life.

General Manager at Telefonica Peru, Cesar Linares, to declare: „This type of project is vital for the development of the country, connecting rural areas not only with the rest of the country, but with the whole world. Connectivity brings with it a series of benefits that translate into better socio-economic development, especially in hard-to-reach areas.

For his part, Eduardo Ricotta, vice president of Ericsson Latin America, stated that: "This project marks a new stage of the partnership between the two companies for the development of projects with a social impact and also strengthens Ericsson's position as a leader in networks in the region, connecting remote rural areas with the help of the latest 4G mobile broadband technologies.

At the moment, Ericsson is active in all markets with a lot of LTE traffic such as Japan, USA, South Korea, Australia and Canada, and was chosen as one of the ten most important LTE operators, according to the number of LTE subscriptions performed worldwide. About 200 networks LTE RAN and Evolved Packet Core were delivered worldwide, 150 of which are operational and providing services for end users. Ericsson's tagline, “A world of communication", it seems that it comes into effect with a lot of force in 2015!
