The new device integrates a SoC quad-core Snapdragon 410 from Qualcomm, which runs at 1.2 GHz, a model entry-level for 64-bit processors. The smartphone has a built-in battery with a capacity of 2200 mAh to support higher energy consumption duringLTE connectivity.

Regarding the technical specifications, Redmi 2 offers a 4.7" display with HD resolution (1280×720 pixels), 1 GB RAM memory, 8 GB storage space, two SIM card slots, an 8 megapixel camera on the back of the phone and a 2 megapixel one on the front. Its weight of 133 grams and dimensions (9.4 mm) do not make it a champion of flexible devices.

The new Redmi 2 will be delivered in five colors and will run MIUI 6, a proprietary version of Android of the Chinese company Xiaomi. Although at the moment it was announced only for the Chinese market, there are still chances that it will reach other markets as well.
