Motorola Nexus 6, released without the much announced fingerprint reader

Apparent, Motorola Nexus 6 it could have had an extra feature, remembered now only by the recess left on the design of the case, covered with the Motorola logo so as not to look out of place.

According to sources with connections in the mobile device industry, Motorola plans to develop the first phablet Nexus they also included one fingerprint sensor, placed on the back cover exactly in the place now occupied by the recess decorated with the company logo.

All calculations were turned upside down by the great rival Apple by purchase AuthenTec, the best fingerprint sensor vendor available right now. The measure blocked Motorola's access to the technologies developed by it, the company being forced to consider alternatives with inferior results in terms of accuracy and ease of use. In other words, Motorola had a choice between equipping the Nexus 6 phone with a fingerprint reader with inferior performance to the one installed on the phones iPhone and postponing this endowment for a generation smartphone future, in the idea that Nexus 6 users won't miss it too much anyway.

It is not clear if the purchase price was also adjusted to reflect the omission of the biometric sensor from the equipment list for the finished product, even in its current configuration, the Motorola Nexus 6 being a not exactly cheap terminal.
