Microsoft launches Nokia 215, the cheapest internet phone
Microsoft gave up the famous brand Nokia in favor smartphoneof the range Lumia, but the rest of the devices will keep their old name. One of the devices announced for launch is Nokia 215, presented by Microsoft as the cheapest phone with internet access. It seems that some quite interesting functions are hidden under the colored plastic case.
The Nokia 215 is a basic mobile phone model. Until now, this category of mobile phones could only allow the initiation of calls and the sending of SMS. Microsoft brings a plus by integrating the ability to connect to internet.
We can't name the new device as a smartphone, but it comes with applications like Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Twitter, Bing, MSN Weather and Opera Mini. All these applications use the Internet connection through 2G network. What must be mentioned is that its technical specifications are not performing well. The phone has a modest hardware, with a 2.4" display that has a QVGA resolution, a 0.3 megapixel camera and a classic alphanumeric keyboard. The novelty of the terminal consists in the integration of the function Bluetooth. The Nokia 215 has a long autonomy, being able to stay in standby for 29 days.
The launch of the new phone was scheduled for the first quarter of 2015 in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
