Longer battery life on Samsung and Apple phones
Apple and Samsung are preparing larger capacity batteries for their flagship devices
Samsung and Apple are finally developing longer-lasting batteries for their flagship phones. An unsolved problem for many years now seems to have found its solution.
Battery capacity and autonomy on mobile phones is a problem that has concerned companies in the industry for many years. Despite the fact that from a technological point of view smartphones have developed a lot, manufacturers have not been able to design batteries with greater autonomy for these devices.
However, it seems that the industry is starting to take steps in the right direction, as Samsung and Apple are working on developing new batteries to keep up with the growing trends and needs for mobile phone autonomy.
Chinese manufacturers are already implementing batteries with a higher capacity than the traditional 5,000 mAh found in most smartphones today. For example, the Nubia RedMagic 10 Pro comes with a 7,050 mAh battery while keeping the thickness of its predecessor. It looks like this trend will become much more common among Chinese manufacturers this year, and Samsung and Apple don't want to be left behind.
Both companies use similar methods to develop these new batteries with greater autonomy. These new batteries for Apple and Samsung devices will allow for greater capacity without increasing the thickness of the phones. Thickness is an important factor for Samsung and Apple, especially since both companies plan to release slim variants of their flagship phones soon. The iPhone 17 Air and Galaxy S25 Slim models will be addressed to users who emphasize aesthetics.

When will longer battery life come to Samsung and Apple phones?
It seems that Samsung has already discovered a method to increase the silicon content of batteries without encountering problems like the well-known battery swelling that makes them look like a pillow. However, there is still no concrete date for the launch of the new Samsung batteries.
A reliable industry source, Jukanlosreve, claims that Apple will only implement its new battery technology after 2026. According to the traditional trends of both companies, it is likely that Samsung will reveal the new batteries a little before Apple. Apple is usually slower to adopt new technologies, insisting on doing things "the Apple way".
As for me (and I think several million other users), I've been wanting an iPhone or smartphone for a very long time Samsung with a battery life of several days. Even sacrificing the thickness of the phones seems to me an acceptable compromise if it would mean better autonomy. However, if phone makers aren't willing to make that trade-off, then new battery technologies are great news. I just hope the deployment of these batteries goes smoothly to avoid a similar scenario to the Galaxy Note 7.
