Android 14 close to official release date
Although it is not confirmed official release date for Android 14, this is getting closer, most likely in the first half of September 2023. Until then, the Beta 5 version of the future operating system developed by Google was recently released for tablets and phones compatible with the latest Android version.
The new features of Android 14
In the upcoming final version of Android 14 there will be no significant changes in terms of applications and functionalities. Most of these come as updates via Google Play or through Play Store.
Instead, most of the changes are focused on improving device security and on application access to new functionality. For example, apps can no longer stop other apps' background processes, there's a new one photo selector and the same APIs for ad targeting in the Privacy Sandbox. Android 14 also blocks the installation of apps that are not built for older versions of Android 6.0. However, if you have some older apps and games installed, they will not be removed.
Android 14 for Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus
There is no confirmed date for the final release of Android 14, but even when it does, it will most likely only be available on Google's Pixel devices at first. Manufacturers such as Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi they have to integrate the changes made by Google into custom versions of Android, which usually pushes back the Android 14 release date by several months for third-party devices.
Samsung is publicly testing its custom version of Android 14, known as the One UI 6, but it will likely be at least a few weeks after Google's launch before it's available on Galaxy phones and tablets.
